Areas of Action

When we make North Carolina a more equitable place, we make it a better place for everyone.

Access to the basics – education, healthcare, housing – takes so much time and money from so many that there is little left for anything else.  Easing the burden on many of our fellow citizens is not only something we should do, but it is something we must do.  We do this work in four major areas:

Human Rights
We all deserve to be treated equally, no matter our status in life.  Young or old, rich or poor, black or white, we are all North Carolinians, and are entitled to be treated that way.

Education
Without a sound education, there is little hope of living a productive life in the 21^st century.  Access to a quality education for everyone is one of the most important contributions we can make as a society.

Public Health
To reach our fullest potential, we need everyone to be healthy.  Access to healthcare and education about health lifestyles for every person is critical to our success as a State.

Finance
People do crazy things for money, and people do crazy things with money.   Sound fiscal policy is a crucial component of a foundation for successful living in today’s world.
